03.21.21 Sunday Message

When I write on Sunday, the message usually finds me throughout the week! Last Sunday I wrote about prayer and this week I needed it! Not because I had huge problems, I didn’t, but because I have so MUCH to do and I needed some comfort and direction.

I used the “Stop - Drop - And Pray” method! 👍

What does that mean? It means I needed to include the Lord in the details of my life. Besides working on my upcoming concert April 16th (regardless of how many I’ve done I’m still concerned about every detail of it), I’m also shooting an episode of Jay Leno‘s Garage right before I have a big Nutrisystem shoot and that starts on Wednesday. We just finished a baby shower weekend for my daughter-in-law Claire (and it’s her last baby after 3 boys... I wonder what she’s having??🤔) and our grandsons Stephen and Christian each had baseball games... so much fun to watch! Even though all these family events are wonderful and my work is very satisfying, my anxiety with so much to do was taking my joy. So I stopped and prayed. As I slowed down I began to see the little miracles occur. My daughter Rachael organized the house we stayed in, my son Brandon played endlessly with the grandkids, not just keeping them busy but making sure they felt included and loved. My son-in-law David who is married to our daughter Brianna (an incredible photographer) shot photos of Claire with her children as a shower gift. When I slowed down I realized I could enjoy the process of the concert and the prep for Jay Leno and Nutrisystem, absorb all the happiness of my family celebrating a new baby and sit in the sun and loving the first day of spring watching my grandsons play baseball. Maybe everything won’t be “Pinterest Perfect,” but it will be perfect for me. 🥰 I am blessed to have had a mother who taught me that joy is always the best “default position.” So sometimes when my to-do list does get too long and I get ahead of myself I stop to “choose joy” and I try to remember to do it at the beginning of my lists. 😂 When I “stop, drop and pray,” I am reminded to choose joy and the feeling of peace always catches up with me. I am so grateful for prayer! None of these things were earth shattering but how things worked out was proof to me the Lord is in the details of my life and yours. Nothing is too big or small for God. He wants us to succeed, to have fun and enjoy this beautiful world He has provided for us. But more than anything, He wants us to have PEACE, even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. 😉 So when you feel anxious or worried, understand that its not coming from a loving Father in Heaven. Take those negative feelings to the Lord and share your fears and worries as you...

Stop - Drop - and Pray!

As always the scriptures say it best, Luke 11:9-9 “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

In this scripture I believe the Savior is saying that prayer requires a seeking heart. One of the great keys is when we stop and “initiate” prayer, sincerely starting the conversation! My reward from prayer? I will have the Holy Ghost to guide me, help me find solutions and give me peace. I’m glad I wrote about prayer last week, I believe it needed to be emphasized this week! It helps us to remember to pray always... even for the little things! Then, it’s that much easier to pray for the big things.

Mark 11:24 - “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].”

Have faith my friends….the Lord is always with us and He knows our pain and problems, he wants to help us with the mountains and the hills.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 - “Pray without ceasing.”

My love and PRAYERS sent to you today and always. 🙏 #SundayMessage
