When I saw this, not only did I want BBQ,  I want BBQ to be the cure for ALL things... even the virus! 🤣 Before we throw this idea out, let’s think it through. Instead of waiting in line for the vaccine, we’d wait in line for Famous Dave’s and order up some ribs and brisket! Full, happy and cured! Nirvana!!!

Hey, I’m pulling for the pulled pork!🐷👍

Since this is our first pandemic, we don’t have a book of rules. We’ve made a few mistakes and I’m sure we will make a few more. As for me, I’m going to find a way to laugh through it all, it’s my best defense when things go sideways. Without the effort of trying to find laughter, I probably would have curled up in a ball a long time ago. I believe God doesn’t walk around heaven morose and pessimistic. I believe our God is filled with light, faith, optimism and full of good humor. And I know He wants us to be happy. How did I come to this conclusion? Have you ever looked at the ears or nose of an elephant, the neck of a giraffe or the face of a hippopotamus? Now there’s some good humor! 😂 I love our God, He is gracious, joyful and full of good laughter.

It’s true! I have the scriptures to back me up…

“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” ~Psalm 126:2-3

I love this scripture because it combines two of my favorites…songs and laughter. The scripture says, “The Lord has done great things for us.” As we look carefully we will see our Father in Heaven has gotten His people through every challenging time and He will continue to do that. He wants us to have faith in Him, to follow Him and choose to find the good through the trials. This pandemic IS difficult even for the most trusting and most faithful, because we are going through the unknown. Now is when we take all we have learned and apply that knowledge—with faith—to trust in Him. The other day on The Talk, we spoke with Lizza Gibbons. She is a dear friend and has had a  phenomenal career. As she spoke she shared her personal success in keeping a journal. This inspired a great question, What will our journals reflect? What wisdom will come from our trials? What can we share with those who might read to bring them hope and even laughter?

“He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.”

~Job 8:21

Think about how you feel when someone walks in a room confident, laughing and happy? Everything changes! The Energy they possess comes from choosing to be a positive and happy person no matter what life brings! Those are the stories I like to write down because, “If you’re going to laugh about something in the future, you might as well laugh about it now!” (Check out my book if you haven’t!) Find the joy, don’t be afraid of change and above all stay humble because when life becomes too hard to stand... kneel! It’s on our knees we listen to the spirit and can discern where God is leading us.

I am counting on the Lord to “fill my mouth with joy, positivity and laughter instead of bitter, bitting or negative words... OR... (temporary teeth 😉). Hey, I spent many hours on my knees trying to figure out why my body was going through so much! Now that we figured it out, my new upper teeth are finally permanent and I’m just waiting on the lowers so I can fill my mouth with a great big delicious BBQ sandwich!!! What a beautiful day that will be...😋

Love you all and #HappySunday
