06.14.20 Sunday Message

I came across this beautiful prayer the other day by St. Francis Of Assisi, a Priest from the 12th century. The words of his simple prayer reflected his desire to be of service to others. If I was looking for anything that could help right now in our complicated times it would be this….

~~~~~
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
What a sweet reminder to do what we can help those around you. I promise the joy you feel will lift you out of any confusion or fear you may be having. As we focus on the Lord nothing can take our peace or stand in the way as we offer it to others.
Sarah McLachlan sings a beautiful rendition of this prayer. Watch the full video on YouTube here.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." ~John 14:27
My love to you….
